On Sunday September 11th, the winners from the club internal competition travelled to Mullingar to represent the club at an open JKS competition.

For many, this was their first time taking part in a competition outside of the club and they certainly rose to the occasion.

Diarmaid Sensei gives the team some final advice and motivation

The team had a number of successes in both kumite and kata with; Egan Brosnan winning the kumite in the 9-11 year old section, Martin Murphy came joing first in kata in the 9-11 year old section, Lochlann Gilbert came second in kumite and third in kata in the 7-9 year old section, Cillian Doody came second in kumite in the 11-13 year old section, Rebecca Stryker came third in kata in the 11-13 year old section and Shane Kilmartin came third in the 14-16 year old section.

Well done to all involved, they acquitted themselves well and did the club proud showing the high standard we maintain.

A special thank you to Diarmaid Sensei for couching the team in preparation for this competition.
