Welcome to the Abbeyfeale Karate Club website.

The Abbeyfeale Shotokan Karate club was formed in 1985 by Humphrey Doody, who is still the driving force behind the club and now holds 4th dan status.

Training takes place Tuesdays and Fridays in the sports complex, Abbeyfeale. Members range in age from six to forty plus . Seniors train from 7.00 - 8.00 pm. The kiddies session at 6.30 lasts for the duration of thirty minutes. This is mainly a fun session, with a little karate and exercise (games). Discipline and respect are strongly emphasised during this session.

The club is a member of the Japanese Karate Shotorenmei (JKS) which teaches traditional shotokan karate. The club participates in many JKS courses through out the year which are run by Scott Langley Sensei as well as others.
